NEW ARTIST FINDS: LOSTBOYCROW

2/26/15

New singer-songwriter Lostboycrow (yup, all one word!) is still pretty mysterious, but he’s about to take the alternative-pop genre by storm with his debut tracks “Adolescent” and “HiyHiy.” The Los Angeles-based artist is stirring up some well-deserved buzz with his powerful vocals, catchy hooks, and innovative instrumentation. If you like indie-pop as well as alternative R&B with a slightly dark flare, then I highly suggest you read on to discover Lostboycrow.

LOSTBOYCROW - ADOLESCENT

His strong debut single, “Adolescent,” is a super well-written alternative pop track that is bound to blow up any day now. Beginning with fuzzy electronic elements, a fast-paced drum machine beat and smooth vocals, the track takes a dramatic turn once the chorus hits about 45 seconds in. Bright, soaring synths and dramatic vocals cause the track to really take off, and you’ll be singing, “I can breathe fire/ I can break stones” for the rest of the day. It’s simply synth-pop at its finest.

LOSTBOYCROW - HIYHIY

His follow up to “Adolescent,” “HiyHiy,” (I think it’s now safe that this dude loves squishing words together) is a dark yet bouncy indie-pop track that shows off his different styles. From the moment the track begins, you’re introduced to some intriguing percussion and quirky electronic elements that I totally love. The drums get louder and louder until the chorus hits at the 1:22 mark where things get a bit tropical sounding which makes for a wonderfully groovy chorus. After hearing this track, it’s clear that he definitely knows how to create fresh and catchy hooks that are perfect for the mainstream.

Since I’m sure you liked what you heard, help Lostboycrow out by giving him some Facebook “likes” and tell him his pals over at BitCandy say “hi!”. And if you need even more awesome new music in your life, then head on over here.
